Keep Grounded and Carry On

Sometimes it can be tempting to think we don’t have time, there is too much to do to take time out and make space for us to ground ourselves and rest. Nancy Kline (Time to Think) says that the quality of all human actions is underpinned by the quality of our thinking. As you navigate your way through a pandemic (and I’m pretty sure this is a first for all of us) many of us are finding that time is passing differently, the energy is different, you are stuggling to create boundaries around the work day, you are showing up in about 5 different role each minute of the day, you might be over functioning or under functioning but whatever you are experiencing you need to take time. You need to find time to let your mind and your body stop and recalibrate so that you can be some version of your best self in the days and weeks to come. There is a zen proverb that says:

“If you don’t have time to meditate for an hour everyday, you should meditate for two”

— Zen Proverb

In times of uncertainty, turning in, using your own capabilities and inner wisdom is both grounding and empowering. While 2 hours of meditation a day is not realistic for most, 10 minutes of guided relaxation, guided meditation or breathwork is absolutely possible! I know you will feel the benefits.
